The Arena (Recommended: 8/8)
Why & How to find The Arena
I have decided to continue the Nexus project once again. This time it will be based off of the most current Nexus and I will try to implement most features. This map will work best with the Realm of the Mad God texture pack. Realm of the Mad God Texture PackAdditional NotesI am currently having. Xeno Crisis is an arena shooter in which up to two players take control of battle-hardened marines embarking on a dea. Realm of the Mad God Fight monsters in groups of up to 85 play.
Why
Every 3 waves completed in the arena, a purple bag will drop in the center containing a reward. Lower waves drop common consumables or a stat potion (not mana or life). Mana, life, vitality, and wine cellar incantations have a chance to drop starting at wave 21, with mana and life becoming more common as the waves go by.
How
*The arena cost 250 fame or 51 realm gold to enter.
Wave Information
Every wave in the arena has a pool of enemies that may or may not spawn in that wave. Every wave also appears to have an alternate 'boss wave', where 1 strong enemy will spawn instead of many weaker ones.

Wave 30+: Large spike in difficulty and life chance

Note: all enemies only have a chance to spawn every wave. For example: You could go into wave 14 and two bomb devils will spawn, and not get a single bomb devil for the rest of the run. It's all random.
Dungeon bosses include: Septavius, Limon, Malphas, and Lord Ruthven.
Unique Enemies
There are 5 enemies that are exclusive to the arena.
Bomb Devil (wave 8+)
These enemies throw bombs, and when the bombs explode, lava tiles will be spawned in that area. these lava tiles will never go away. Killing these enemies should be your top priority for every wave. The bullets they shoot also do a decent amount of damage, so avoid those as well.
Immune to Stun.
Bomb Father (wave 15+)
Same as bomb devil, but with more health and damage.
Fire Blight (wave 21+)
Same as bomb father, but with even more health and damage! YAY!
Quiet Wizard (wave 7+)
Shoots medium-damage bullets that quiet you. Not much of a threat.
Silent Wizard (wave 12+)
Same as quiet wizard, but with more health and damage.
Immune to stun.
Best Classes
The arena is done completely by yourself, so when choosing a class you need only think of the benefits to yourself that playing that class will bestow. Support classes such as priest, paladin, and necromancer are not recommended because most of their utility is wasted without a group to support.
The favored classes include rogue, knight, and warrior. A small outline of their pros and cons can be found below.
Rogue
Pros
Rogue has always been considered by most to be a solo class, so the arena is a perfect fit for any rogue looking for a challenge. Their mid-range DPS allows them to kill enemies fairly quickly and their cloaking ability means minimal risk when doing damage to bosses and minions. With a good enough pet a rogue can also 'Permacloak', removing much of the danger that still exists.
Cons
Even though rogues are great for solo players, they are not without their faults. Getting quieted will de-cloak you instantly, meaning you need to be very aware of your surroundings and keep on the lookout for any enemies that may be able to quiet you so you can prioritize killing them. Another factor is the time taken to progress, which can mean multiple hours in the arena. An unfortunate side effect of prolonged play time without any resets is memory leak and ultimately, lag. High memory can lead to crashes, which will not only end your run, they will cause you to lose all your progress.
Tips
*Avoid quieting shots at all cost, as they will instantly decloak you.
*Wear DPS based gear (Etherite, Spectral, shats Crown). DPS is very important in the arena.
Knight
Pros
Knights are one of the safest classes in the game to play, this extends into the arena as well. With his extremely high defense and health he is a force to be reckoned with. As well as being a great tank, a knights DPS is fairly high, making killing bosses and minions much easier. His special ability, the shield bash also gives the added benefit of stunning enemies while also doing a good chunk of damage, further boosting the knights already impressive damage.
Cons
The knight is a melee class, meaning he has to get up close and personal to deal with enemies. While his high defense and health makes this relatively safe, it is still a good idea to stay vigilant and observe the area around your character. Compounding this is the fact that some enemies in the arena are immune to stun, meaning that the knight will be taking constant damage from them while attacking.
Tips
*Having a ring that gives extra MP is very important; Your ability to stun is what will keep you alive. If you happen to own the Spiteful Scutum use it, as it provides a longer stun for less mana.
Fun Fact the current recorded world record in the arena was set by BTL (formerly BTEL) on a knight.
Warrior
Pros
The warrior has the highest DPS in the game, along with the second highest defense and health. His high damage shots can kill minions in one hit and shear health off of bosses in seconds, making warrior runs some of the fastest. Even though the warrior is already a formidable fighters, his ability increases his damage further by buffing his speed and dexterity. If the warrior is lucky enough to have a Helm of the Juggernaut, he can trade speedy for the incredibly useful armored buff. With the right gear a warrior can have in excess of 120 defense, making it easy to shrug off high damage shots and finish bosses with ease.
Cons
As with all melee classes, warrior needs to get up close and personal with his adversaries to deal damage. This can mean a swift death for any warrior who doesn't stay focused on his health and surroundings. On top of his short range, the warrior does not have the benefit of the knight's shield bash or the paladin's seal buff, making staying healthy a much bigger challenge.
Tips
*Don't be afraid to be cautious. You may have the highest dps in the game, but there are so many enemies in the arena that you could be killed in less than a second if you get cocky.

Pets
Realm Of The Mad God
The arena is a perfect example of how pets can help a player stay alive and fight harder, with swarms of enemies constantly assaulting the player and multiple boss encounters at once. A high level pet can be make a world of difference, where a player without a pet might reach wave 20, a player with a high level pet could easily reach waves 30 and above. The main two abilities sought after when doing the arena are heal and magic heal, the two most important stats in the game. A few useful stats will be outlines below, along with how they can help a player in the arena
Heal
Heal should be pretty self explanatory, your pet will periodically heal you. This is arguably the most useful ability to have on a pet. Not only does it allow you to regenerate and get back into the fight more quickly, it also allows you to shrug off minor damage and continue fighting.
Magic Heal
Magic heal is identical to heal, except it heals mana instead. Mana regeneration has always been a limiting factor for many classes, with a good mana heal pet spamming abilities becomes viable, which means more of an advantage for the player.
Electric
Electric is a mixed blessing ability. Your pet will paralyze and damage any monster that stands on top of it, making it an easy target to focus DPS on. The damage this ability does is the only one that is enough to make a difference, doing excess of 200 per shot at higher levels. The only downside to this ability is the lack of control an un-trained player will have when using the pet, a paralyze pet can do anything from wake up tomb bosses to paralyzing limon on top of you, so caution is advised.
Realm Of The Mad God Exalt
Decoy
Decoy makes your pet a target for enemies, meaning less shots are coming at you and more are going towards the invincible pile of pixels behind you. This means you take less damage overall and are able to stay closer to enemies longer. However, as with electric, this ability is slightly unpredictable. your pet could accidentally cause more shots to hit you if you are not being careful.
Tips
Cached
The arena will slowly begin to fill with water if you take to long to complete a wave, this is why DPS is important.
Bring Ghost Pirate Rum for the later rounds to deal with Geb and lava enemies you feel unsafe fighting under normal circumstances
In the beginning of each wave run around the outside of the map to search for lava enemies without activating most bosses in the midde
Be extremely cautious if thessal spawns, especially in the later rounds her pet stasis is deadly when fighting any lava enemy and her aurmor break allows normally harmless bosses (like ruthven) to kill you in a quarter of a second with a lot of low power high frequency shots.
High level pets are essential for reaching high waves in the arena (uness you are mrunibro). Without them you have to dodge nearly every shot, and in the later waves that gets quite tricky.
If you plan on reaching high waves, be sure you have plenty of time to do so. Getting to wave 30 could take more than an hour.
Bring healing consumables with you in the arena, and never be afraid to bring the best gear you have. Remember, you can't lose a character in the arena so don't be afraid to give it your all.
Leave a lot of space in your inventory, you get a lot of loot in the arena!
Check the corners of the arena for the Lava enemies. If lava is already there, you can remove these tiles by killing Limon the Sprite God on top of these lava tiles.
Don't be discouraged by one failed run. The arena is unpredictable, sometimes you'll make it to round 30 easily and other times you'll die before round 20. It's all about what enemies you get, and how well you handle them.
